Subcommittee meetings generally take place the 3rd Monday of each month at 2pm, in the Peter Pan Room of the Scibelli Enterprise Center on 1 Federal Street, Springfield MA, and are open to the public.
The Urban Agriculture Subcommittee works to identify opportunities to improve existing agriculture and grow new systems to improve access to fresh, affordable, and culturally appropriate food for the citizens of Springfield.

The Subcommittee has worked hard to identify Springfield's current community gardens as well as promoting the improvement and expansion of gardens through the newly enacted Community Gardening Ordinance.

The Subcommittee is composed of members of the Steering Committee and general membership.

The Youth Nutrition Subcommittee supports healthy initiatives at all levels of education within Springfield. To date, we have supported K-12 school gardens and farm to school initiatives via letters of support, and we have produced the Springfield Public School Garden Resource Guide.
