Take Action for Food Justice in Springfield
GET INVOLVED
Why it Matters to Us
About 1.11 million Massachusetts residents received SNAP benefits in 2024. That’s 15.6% of the state’s population.
In Springfield, that number rises to about 30% of families, with 43% reporting that they struggle with food insecurity, diet-related illness, and the daily stress of not knowing where their next meal will come from. It’s more than a statistic—it’s our neighbors, our friends, and our future.
We believe every person deserves the chance to thrive with fresh, nourishing, and culturally meaningful food. This isn’t just about health. It’s about hope. Each garden we grow, each policy we change, and each table we share moves us closer to a community where no one is left behind.
By working together, we can turn cycles of hunger into cycles of healing and abundance. And that future starts with us, here and now.
